What is TED

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TED Talks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.

What is

TEDxNCIT is an independently organized TED event that we are hosting here at the Nepal College of Information Technology (NCIT). Like other TEDx events, TEDxNCIT operates under a license from TED, a nonprofit organization devoted to spreading ideas in the form of short, powerful talks. The “x” in TEDx stands for "independently organized TED event," which means that the event is planned and coordinated on a community-by-community basis.

Our theme, "Wave of Bytes," suggests a focus on the digital and technological transformation, highlighting the impact of data, information technology, and digital innovations on society. This theme aligns well with the interests of NCIT students and the broader tech community, exploring topics such as cybersecurity, blockchain, artificial intelligence, big data, and many more not limiting to these topics.

By hosting TEDxNCIT, we provide a platform for thinkers, innovators, and leaders to share their ideas, inspiring students and the local community. It also offers a unique opportunity for networking, learning, and engaging with cutting-edge concepts and technologies.
